Eco – Dutchies! Summer School follows the path of organic products!

What a day in Slovenia! Just arrived back at our hostel after a day full of sun, culture and tasty experiences…
Our today’s program started early in the morning at 8.15 and as you might know the Dutchies definitely don’t like action in the early hours. Especially when the night before was that funny and boozy as yesterday’s…

Flashback: Yesterday evening. Our dear Estonian colleagues joined us for a picnic at our beloved ‘beach’. This culinary approach turned -  just as expected – into a nice small beach party, with music, midnight swimming and of course one or two drinks. Even our appreciated tutors Steffen and Konstantin joined us later as well to make this evening even more spectacular.  To summarize: Lots of fun, lots of nice conversations, not enough sleep!

So it came that this morning not all of us where as refreshed as usually, which also means that we skipped our traditional swimming in the morning…shame on us! However the tiredness disappeared as soon as we reached Piran, the pearl of the Slovenian coastline. Piran is an ancient city, rich of heritage and culture and definitely worth a visit! Our colleagues from Slovenia joined us for a, let’s say: masqueraded city tour that eventually turned out to be a competition. Well, guess who won!?

After the lunch it took us even further away from Portorož. We went to the hinterland to experience organic and eco friendly ways of farming and how to use eco-farms to attract tourists. For you this might sounds like gibberish, but for us as Tourism Students it is more like the holy source of learning. Our tour eventually ended with the tasting of local, organic products like olive oil, wine, bread and cheese. So as for now we hope that you are just as fine as we are after such an outstanding day! See you tomorrow and ‘tot morgen’!
