From sLOVEnija with innovation!

It was crazy day full of innovations. We talked about theory, came up with awesome ideas how to develop Portorož. There were eight teams and soon there will be eight very cool things tourists can do in the area, as we got one minute to introduce our ideas to mayor of the Portorož (ok it was not a real mayor but the man with power, anyway). In the future tourists can drive around by velo-taxi, horses and cable car, buy food from local food festival, sleep in tents hanging from the trees and eat seafood while wearing tuxedo and sitting in water.

There are so many new things Slovenians have already done to promote their country. They invented the Bank of tourism potentials in Slovenia, where everybody can make a “deposite”. You can check it out:
We managed to jump into the sea for five minutes during our break between lectures because sea is from across the road of the school (how cool is that, right?!). Students in Turistica are lucky.

In the evening we took a part of international evening, where we got to know other cultures, their habits, traditions and dances. The food and wine degustation was very interesting and tasty experience. We tasted wine, cheese, ham and fantastic sweets from each presented country, found out that in Portugal there are stones that give birth to baby stones and in Croatia there is organ that sea plays and people can sit on the shore enjoying the music. Most fun was for sure the part where we got to dance with senior dancers from Slovenian folklore dance group. The Dutch put up a wonderful play about tourist exploring the Netherlands. And we, crazy and wild Estonians, taught everybody our traditional dance Kaera-Jaan, made special black bread sandwiches with egg and sprats and offered everybody kama.

All the countries are so different and interesting but there is one common thing that joins us together – Innovative Marketing of Costal Destination Summer School 2013.
