From sLOVEnija with fruits!

Tere õhtust! Dober većer! Good evening!

We have arrived to Portorož, the Port of Roses. It was not easy. Landing was rough like a rollercoaster ride, where you hope there is a higher power protecting you. But still… we made it! And it was definitely worth it. So far we have experienced feelings of all sorts – anxiety, panic, fear, heath stroke, hunger, sadness. But this is not really what sLOVEnija is about. Today was totally opposite – surprising, tasty, fresh, exciting, sweet, stunning, historic, lively, attractive, educative, fascinating, fabulous and lovely.

Today´s theme is: From Slovenia with fruits!

We started our day early with lemon-fresh swim. The lecture can be compared with raisins - it was about history and raisins are old grapes J, but also sweet because it was interesting. Breaking the ice in the friendly environment was peachy.

Piran was extra sweet today like handful of fresh strawberries. We bought fresh figs from market and ate them under old olive trees. I know, sounds like a movie, right?! Of course later we discovered many natural fig trees covered with a bit smaller fruits. Coming from rather cold country, the selection of local fruits in the market literally took out breath away. Surprises were behind every corner – trio playing in the bushes, old man showing where and how to eat the watermelon, the view (it was hard to understand where Italy starts, Slovenia ends, or is it Croatia), narrow streets that take you, well anywhere.

Million stars were shining in the sky while we walked by the sea. It was so warm. The evening ended surprisingly. Ice-cream! I scream! We have never seen so much ice-cream. It was like all the fruits in the world together. And then tastes of raffaello and sacher and yougurt and rum appared in ice-cream. But this is another story…
